The Border Hotel - Kirk Yetholm

Great place with great amenities like free wi-fi, a cozy bar and lounge area, and delicious food options. The staff were helpful when I left my documents behind. Highly recommend for a good stay!

The recently refurbished room was fashionable and the bathroom was big size.

The hotel was a characterful base for enjoying a beautiful area, right by a local festival, the North East, and the back bar/conservatory. Our room was well-organised and great-sized and provided with very big beds, a huge bathroom, for instance....  

Pleasant Stay with Really good Dining Experience

The highlight was an very nice seven-course dinner that showcased innovative dishes. Don't miss the venison prepared three ways! A tip for fellow hikers, consider planning your meals ahead, as dining options may be limited in the area.

The spacious apartment had a comfy living area, and the delicious lamb for dinner was a standout. Great for hikers!

It was just a perfect match for a couple of nights in Kirk holm with excellent value for money. We received a warm, friendly welcome and even got a free half pint of beer after a long trek. If you're walking the Pennine Way, this place is a must-stop.

The cute atmosphere here was a delight for our large family. We enjoyed hearty meals together, and the kids loved the spacious wooden dance floor for evening fun. My brother and I had a nice experience...  

Had a lovely stay in a standard double room where the large bathroom and comfortable bed made for a cozy night. The sun terrace was perfect for relaxing with a drink while enjoying the nice weather and the garden area was a bonus for some fresh air. The only downside was the bed felt a bit too soft, but it didn't ruin my experience-definitely recommend giving it a try! 😊

The view from the room was amazing, reminded me of a scene out of a classic movie. Staff did not just serve breakfast, they prepared it like they genuinely cared about how it turned out.

It wasn't exactly cheap, but given the experience, I found it to be worth it.

The cozy lounge area offers a vibrant community feel, attracting locals who are eager to chat. The dining portions pack a punch, ensuring satisfaction after a long day of walking the nearby trails.

Showers can be a struggle here. Mine hardly had any pressure, turning a quick rinse into a challenge. The bed in my room definitely showed signs of age, with squeaky springs that added a certain ambiance-unwanted, of course. Thin walls meant I got a front-row seat to my neighbor's conversations, which wasn't exactly the peaceful retreat I was hoping for after a long trek.

I spent 1 night in a Standard Double Room and enjoyed the charming atmosphere of the hotel, complete with a cozy bar and friendly locals. The food was hearty and included fantastic local ales, made for a good evening. The dining options could use a bit more variety to cater to different tastes.

I spent one night at The Border in Kirk holm and enjoyed quite a bit about it. The location is perfect for exploring both Scotland and Northumberland. The staff greeted me with warmth. My room, a Standard Double, was clean but quite dated, needing an update to the decor and furnishings. It felt a bit cramped, and I noticed the bathroom door couldn't be locked, a bit off-putting. The highlight was the bar area with its cozy atmosphere where guests can unwind, play darts, or enjoy live music. I had dinner there and found the food scrumptious, especially the chips. Breakfast the next morning was good too, but I wished there had been more fruit options. The cooked vegetarian option was missing, limiting choices for plant-based diners. The shower pressure was less than ideal. Friendly service and good food were good.
